The terms and conditions apply to those who have received a quotation from us, have paid for service, and/or have received service from us.
Mighty Moves, LLC does not accept liability for:
1.) Items inside boxes not packed by Mighty Moves, including new or unused items. We can’t verify prior condition or how items were packed.
2.) Open, overfilled, or poorly taped boxes. If a box isn’t sealed properly (especially the bottom), items can fall out. Please tape all boxes securely.
3.) Pre-existing damage or normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, loose joints, weakened materials, or items that fail during normal handling.
4.) Anything made of particle board or MDF (example: most IKEA furniture). These items commonly weaken, crumble, or collapse — sometimes just from being lifted.
5.) Furniture assembled by the owner, including any damage caused if that furniture collapses, shifts, or comes apart, or causes damage to the home. Missing or leftover hardware matters.
6.) Drawer slides, soft-close mechanisms, cabinet tracks, and internal hardware, especially on pressboard, flat-pack, or older furniture.
7.) Pictures, mirrors, glass, frames, and artwork that are not boxed. We will wrap unboxed items in moving blankets (which works most of the time), but glass can break.
8.) Televisions and monitors that are not boxed. TVs are delicate and not covered unless boxed. If no box is available, we will pad and strap the TV securely — but you are accepting the small risk involved.
9.) Unboxed lamps, especially floor lamps. If it’s not boxed, it’s best transported in your personal vehicle. Lamp shades should always be boxed.
10.) Internal or electronic malfunction of TVs, computers, gaming systems, speakers, or appliances, unless there is clear external damage caused by negligence.
11.) Appliances and internal components, including ice makers, water lines, hoses, or internal mechanisms that fail after transport.
12.) Items left inside drawers, cabinets, or containers, including jewelry, cash, documents, or small personal items.
13.) High-value, irreplaceable, or sentimental items, including collectibles, heirlooms, important documents, or cash, unless disclosed in advance and properly packed.
14.) Items requiring disassembly or reassembly that were not designed to be taken apart, or items missing original hardware.
15.) Plants, perishables, food, or items affected by temperature, moisture, or time in transit.
16.) Hazardous, flammable, or prohibited items, including propane tanks, gasoline, ammunition, fireworks, or chemicals.
17.) Weather-related exposure, including rain, snow, or humidity, when moving during active weather conditions.
18.) Damage caused by tight spaces, low clearances, narrow stairwells, or structural limitations, when the client directs us to proceed despite the risk.
19.) Client-directed handling where we advise against a method and are instructed to proceed anyway.
20.) Loaded trucks, PODs, or containers traveling out of town. Once freight is no longer in our possession, our insurance coverage ends.
Pricing:
1.) We reserve the right to amend any estimates that have been provided by our online booking form. In the case of amendment, the client will be notified before service is rendered.
2.) Estimates reflects the anticipated labor, services, travel, and materials based on the information provided. Final charges will be determined by the actual services performed, time required, materials or disposal fees used, and any unforeseen or undisclosed conditions that affect completion. Additional charges may apply if extra moving services are requested and/or impractical charges arise, such as access restrictions (e.g., stairs or narrow hallways), parking limitations, safety concerns, special handling requirements, access time restrictions, and long-distance transport of items. By booking with Mighty Moves, LLC, you acknowledge that the final invoice will reflect the full scope of work and resources provided.
Deposit:
1.) A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve an appointment with us. This deposit will be applied to the final cost of the job upon completion.
Minimum Charge:
1.) All moving services have a minimum charge of 50% of the quoted estimate, in addition to the travel charge.
Forms of Payment:
1.) Payment is due upon completion of services and can be made via cash, check, or credit/debit cards. Customers may incur additional debit/credit card processing fees.
Transportation Rates:
1.) Local Moves: For moves under 100 miles, the travel charge is calculated based on one hour of service per mover. If an additional truck is needed, the travel charge doubles.
2.) Long Distance Moves: Moves over 100 miles are billed based on total hours traveled multiplied by 1.1, then multiplied by the hourly labor rate per mover. This includes drive time to the origin and destination, with additional charges for overnight stays if necessary. If an extra truck is needed, the travel charge is doubled.
Labor Rates:
1.) Labor charges apply to additional services requested by the shipper, such as loading/unloading, packing/unpacking, and handling of goods. Hourly rates are based on the number of movers: $250 per hour for two movers, with each additional mover charged at $75 per hour.
2.) The minimum labor charge is 50% of the quoted estimate.
Holiday Rates:
1.) Services scheduled on holidays incur a 1.5 times surcharge on the normal hourly labor rate, based on the number of movers assigned.
Specialty Item Rates:
1.) Loading, unloading, and transporting Specialty Items are charged at $100 per item.
2.) These items include those valued over $100 per pound, requiring assembly/disassembly, or excessively large, bulky, or heavy, making them difficult to transport.

Impractical Charges:
1.) The shipper may incur additional fees for impractical operations due to undisclosed or unforeseen conditions.
2.) Such conditions include access restrictions, parking limitations, safety concerns, and long-distance transport of items, making it impossible for Mighty Moves, LLC to perform the job within the estimated time frame.
Shipper Negligence:
1.) Mighty Moves, LLC is not responsible for damage caused by improper or inadequate packing done by the customer. Items packed by the shipper travel at the shipper’s risk. This includes boxes that are overfilled, poorly packed, unlabeled, or contain fragile or hazardous items that were not disclosed.
2.) It’s the shipper’s responsibility to make sure all items are packed, disclosed, and ready for safe transport.
Valuation Coverage:
1.) Full (Replacement) Value Protection ensures compensation for lost, destroyed, or damaged items. The charge for this protection is 5% of the shipment valuation/replacement value. Mighty Moves, LLC will assume liability for no more than $6 per pound, per article, up to $100 unless specifically identified.
2.) Released Value Protection is also available, with Mighty Moves, LLC assuming liability for no more than 60 cents per pound, per article.
Appliance Detachment and Reattachment:
1.) I hereby permit Mighty Moves, LLC to detach appliances at shipper’s current location and reattach such appliances at shipper’s new location. This service is provided solely as a courtesy to the shipper. I understand Mighty Moves, LLC is a moving company and is not a professional plumbing company, gas company, or appliance installation company. Mighty Moves, LLC cannot verify the integrity or proper function of hoses, piping, tubing, gas lines, or the like in connection with such appliances. If any issues should arise regarding the detachment or reattachments of any hoses, piping, tubing, gas lines, or in connection with such appliances, shipper bears the sole responsibility to arrange with an appropriate professional for any inspection, repair, or replacement possibly needed at shipper's own expense. Shipper agrees, in connection with any detaching and reattaching of appliances by Mighty Moves, LLC to hold Mighty Moves, LLC harmless for any damages that may incur, including but not limited to water damage, gas leaks, and/or mold.
Property Photos Consent:
1.) I consent to Mighty Moves, LLC taking photos of my property as necessary (e.g. record pre-existing damage).
Hazardous Weather Policy Acknowledgment:
1.) I understand Mighty Moves, LLC will take all precautions. In the event of rain, I also acknowledge Mighty Moves, LLC will not be held responsible or liable for any water damage that may occur at all including, but not limited to, household goods, floors, and carpet. I, the shipper, acknowledge the decision to continue with the move or to reschedule is solely my responsibility and Mighty Moves, LLC will do as I wish.
Claims Process and Dispute Resolution:
1.) I understand that my move must be paid in full before a claim for lost or damaged items can be submitted.
2.) Any damage must be reported within seven (7) days of the move date. Claims reported after this window will not be eligible for coverage, and Mighty Moves, LLC will no longer be liable.
3.) All claims must be submitted in writing and no later than nine (9) months after delivery of the shipment.
4.) Damage is rare, but if it happens, we keep the process straightforward and fair. Mighty Moves will determine whether the damage resulted from negligence on our part. If we are found liable, claims are resolved using the 3 R’s:
  I. Repair – We will arrange for professional repair at no cost to you.
  II. Replace – If repair is not possible and a comparable replacement is available, we will replace the item.
  III. Reimburse – If repair or replacement is not an option, reimbursement will be issued based on the item’s current market value, not its original purchase price.
5.) Damage to the interior of a home (including walls, door frames, floors, etc.) is handled separately. If damage is due to negligence on our part, it will be repaired under our general liability coverage. Most interior issues are minor, and we will hire a professional to complete repairs at no cost to you.
6.) I acknowledge that any disputes or claims arising from this agreement may be resolved through alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation or arbitration.
7.) If litigation is pursued, it shall be conducted in Henrico County, Virginia. Each party irrevocably waives the right to a trial by jury for any claim, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this agreement.
8.) Our goal is always for clients to feel they received real value and quality service. Upon receiving a complaint or claim, we will review the situation carefully and work in good faith toward a fair and mutually agreed-upon resolution.
Rescheduling of Services
1.) Mighty Moves, LLC may agree to reschedule a move upon the shipper's request but is not required to do so. Delays due to force majeure events are not the responsibility of Mighty Moves, LLC.
Late or Non-Payment
1.) Late payments are subject to a fee of $125 per day unpaid.
2.) After 7 days of non-payment, the credit card on file will be charged for the total balance due, including all debit/credit card costs and applicable fees.
Cancellation Policy
1.) Refunds for cancellations are determined by the quoted cost of moving services.
2.) No charges apply for cancellations made 7 days or more in advance.
2.) Cancellations made 4-6 days prior incur a 25% charge.
3.) Cancellations made 0-3 days before incur a 50% charge.
4.) The deposit fee remains non-refundable, but shippers can reschedule their move within 90 days, with the full cancellation fee applied to the new booking.
SMS/MMS Notifications
1) You can opt-in to receive text message (SMS/MMS) notifications that provide you with reminders and updates related to your account, which include reminders and updates related to appointments, invoices, quotes, and surveys.
2) You can cancel the SMS/MMS notifications service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the phone number that send you the text message. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS/MMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS/MMS messages to you again.

4) Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5) As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. The frequency of messages that are sent to you will be dependent on the work that you've requested from us and the work that we've completed for you.
